Thank you for the opportunity to apply for a teaching position at your institution. After thorough research
regarding the role, I recognize that you are seeking an individual who is passionate about academia, who
takes pride in their work and the students that they serve, and who can adapt to and embrace new
environments. Given these requirements, I am confident that I have the necessary skills to do the job
adeptly and perform the above expectations successfully.
I am a recent UC Berkeley graduate where I majored in English. During and beyond my academic career, I
also managed to accrue nearly eight years of work experience. Formerly, I was an Assistant Instructor of
English at Oxnard College, where I developed my lesson planning and teaching skills. Most recently, I was
an English teacher at a Field Education training center in Chongqing. My previous and current forms of
employment and volunteer experience have exposed me to an abundance of ESL learners, and allowed me
the opportunity for growth in this sphere. In addition, I have ample work and volunteer experience teaching
ESL learners ages 3-20 in various countries including Mexico and Brazil.
My lesson planning skills, my ability to work well with others, my effective adaptability in fast-paced
settings, and my first-rate conflict resolution and problem solving abilities have all contributed to my
development in this field and to my employers placing a significant degree of trust in me. In both my
academic and professional life, I have been referred to consistently as hard-working by my superiors and
peers. Whether working on academic, extracurricular, or professional endeavors, I apply proven leadership
and communication skills, which I hope to leverage into the teaching position at your institution.
After reviewing my resume, I hope you will agree that I am the candidate you are seeking. I look forward to
elaborating on how my specific skills and abilities will benefit your organization. Thank you for your
	consideration.
