    Laptop protection

For those of you who travel with a laptop............ do you use anything to protect it?  I'm talking about laptop case or sleeve type of thing.  Or maybe you don't do either, and just put it in your bag?

There is a fine line between taking too much stuff and forgetting an essential item, so I'd like to know how you guys do it up.

Please include the laptop you have and what you use.

t stuffs neatly into one of its own pockets for when we fly places and need to pack tightly but it also happily fits my laptop + supporting gear if I need to go work outside the apartment/hostel.

en we're out and about though, we're usually carrying a Doite (it's a Chilean brand) Stellar 15 day-bag, it's lightweight with a couple of pockets

I have the Pender. I've taken it on a couple trips now and am happy with it. It's a good day bag :)

I have a Macbook air. My Arcteryx daypack has a laptop sleeve built into it, so that works alright. Otherwise, i have my own case with room for cables, adapters, etc.. It's a bit bulky, but since I need to work when I travel it's a priority :)

aypack has a padded sleeve for laptop storage. It's not perfect, but there's no way I'm carrying another separate bag on top of my backpack and daypack, so it's good enough for me.

I use an HP Envy with SSD, so it's fairly thin and lightweight. I don't have any protection for the laptop itself, but I travel with a laptop bag as well as my backpack (it counts as my "personal item" for all except the most budget airlines' carry-on rules). The laptop bag also carries the electronics and other items I need easily accessible while in transit.
