    So, I Won A Trip To Anywhere In The Usa, Where Should I Go?

    Hello, beautiful travel forum people.

     

    This morning I got quite a surprise as I won a 4-day vacation to anywhere in the usa, hotel and airfare plus $500 to spend- in a drawing at my work that I didn't even know was happening!!!!

     

    I need ideas!

    The USA has a lot to offer. From the beautiful mountains and fall foliage in Maine & New Hampshire to the gorgeous Alaska with its Northern Lights. We’ve been to Maine in February this year with my 2 brothers and we loved it.

    vote for Vermont as it offers picturesque sceneries, the fall foliage and many museums. Of course, Hawaii comes next with its exotic beauty. Third would be The Grand Canyon with its breath taking views.

    Wow, I wish I could win such a 4-day trip myself from my job one day! I love the advice of Plan Backpacking. I’d also suggest going to Maine. I’ve been there in October 2014 and February 2015 with my boyfriend and we loved it both times. It’s not all about the foliage but it’s about the romance, beautiful architecture and laid back atmosphere of Maine. Also, there’s something for the hikers since there is the Acadia National Park with many trials to be enjoyed. There’s something for the beach-lovers as Portland offers supreme beaches.

    I love Hawaii and New York, if you're looking for sunshine as I would be during winter and always am, i would for sure say Hawaii! Maui is beautiful, you can do the Road to Hana one day, relax one day, wale watch one day, and visit another beach on your last day. So much to see!

    " Go with your heart " as that is what could help you enjoy the trip the most. I don't know how much you enjoy spontaneity, but if you dont mind it, maybe try Travel Roulette and take a dart to a USA map. Wherever it lands, travel there, or near there. :)

    Alaska was also on my short list, but when I considered timeframe, Hawaii looked to be the best option. Winter is coming, and I want to go asap!

    I'd say California but I'm incredibly biased. I love the above Alaska suggestion, though. Can you extend beyond 4 days if you cover the rest? Seems so short! If only 4 days I might do a city like NYC, as you were already considering.

    I grew up in Alaska and I can say that it is definitely beautiful. Expensive to get there, fairly spendy in general. You'll need to rent a car to get anywhere.

    Is Puerto Rico considered part of the US?
